FAQ 1 - Questions about digitizing video tapes

1.1 Does the film lose quality when digitizing materials from video cassettes?
NO. I capture material from a video cassette with a bitrate of 8Mb/s, so the film will be saved to an MP4 file in undegraded quality - exactly the same as it was saved on the video cassette.

1.2 What is the deadline for completing the order?
The order completion time depends mainly on how many cassettes you have to digitize. I try to make the customer satisfied and often, when ordering 1-2 cassettes, the customer receives the resulting material in MP4 files on the same day - of course, when there are no other orders. Otherwise, the customer is placed next in the queue.

1.3 What are the payment methods?
I accept payments in cash, by card or by transfer to a bank account.

1.4 Do you accept and ship digitized materials?
Yes of course. I also accept materials for processing by post or courier from any place in Poland, and after paying the money to my account, I send the digitized materials with MP4 files by post or make them available in the cloud.
When sending your materials to me, please pack them well - it is best to put them in a safe (bubble) envelope and send them by courier. And if there are more cassettes, it is best to put them in a cardboard box and cover them with newspapers so that they do not move during transport. I return lost materials in the same way.

1.5 Do I have to pay extra for copying cassettes recorded in the American NTSC system?
NO. I digitize cassettes recorded in the NTSC system at the same price as PAL and SECAM.

1.6 What happens to my films after you have performed the service?
The materials you provide are used only for the purpose of providing the service - digitizing into MP4 files or for editing. I guarantee complete discretion - your materials are under no circumstances made available to third parties. They are stored for a period of up to 14 days from the moment the service is provided, in order to give the Customer the opportunity to make a final decision about making any additional copies. After a period of 2 weeks, your materials are deleted.

1.7 Do you accept complaints?
Of course, it may happen by chance that the order will be completed with some error - that's why I give you 14 days to carefully check the received materials and make any complaints. After this date, complaints will not be accepted.

1.8 I don't know what I have on the cassettes, I have no place to play them, and I would like to copy them to a pendrive, arranging them chronologically, giving a title to each film. Can I check the cassettes before copying them?
In such a situation, I first copy the entire contents of the cassettes to the computer, and then we arrange a meeting during which we review the film materials in the editing program on the computer, determine the date when the film was made, give them titles, determine where the beginning is and where the end of a given recording, we determine what fragments should be deleted, etc. Viewing cassettes directly on the VCR is very time-consuming, so I don't do it, but on a computer it is very convenient and takes a relatively short time. It is also possible to rent a VCR from me so that the client can watch the video tapes at home.

1.9 How much time do I have to collect my order?
After completing the order, each customer is informed via SMS and e-mail that the service has been completed. From this moment, the customer has 1 month to collect his video cassettes. If the cassettes entrusted to me are not collected within this period, they will be destroyed.

1.10 My cassettes have gaps of several seconds between films, can you cut them out while transferring?
Yes. I can cut out all unnecessary fragments of recordings, including the "snowing image" between subsequent videos. I charge an additional fee for this, depending on how much additional time I had to devote to it.

1.11 I have problems with moving around the city, I am a disabled person, and I would like to have my video cassettes digitized by you. What will you advise?
In such a situation, I can come to your house to pick up the tapes. After digitizing them, I will deliver them back to you.

1.12 Do you issue invoices?
Yes.

FAQ 2 - Questions about wedding filming

2.1 Do you have permission to film in churches?
Yes.

2.2 What is the preparation process for filming?
First of all, we arrange an organizational meeting during which we discuss the scenario of the wedding ceremony and sign a contract for the provision of the service. All this to exclude any unpleasant surprises. I also give the bride and groom various tips to make the film better.

2.3 I need 10 copies of the wedding video, how much more will it cost?
The bride and groom receive one copy on a pendrive in the price of the service, for making a copy on an additional pendrive the price is PLN 10, for each additionally recorded disc the price is PLN 13 in the case of DVDs and PLN 20 in the case of Blu-Ray discs.

2.4 How long is the wedding video you recorded?
The film is 120 minutes long if it is saved in one single file on a pendrive, or if the customer prefers to receive the film on DVD or Blu-ray, then one hour on each disc.

2.5 Can we prepare a label design to print on DVDs ourselves?
Yes of course. Customers' own initiative is welcome.

2.6 How long will we wait for the edited wedding video?
According to the contract, the film will be ready within 21 days from the wedding day. In practice, the film is available for collection a few days after the wedding.

2.7 How far in advance do you need to book an appointment?
It is safest to book a date several months in advance, but of course I do not rule out the possibility of providing the wedding filming service if the client contacts me a week before the wedding - it all depends on my schedule and planned orders.

2.8 Can you add songs that we like to the film as background music?
Of course. Please bring suggestions for songs you would like to include in the film to the organizational meeting. The client's own initiative in this matter is welcome.

2.9 Do you issue invoices?
Yes.

2.10 What camera do you use?
I film the celebrations with a SONY HDR-AX2000 camera.

2.11 We would like to have a wedding in Krakow, can we also use your services?
Yes of course. Only travel costs must be paid extra - if the ceremony takes place within 50 km of the center of Sosnowiec, travel is free. Above 50 km from my office, you must pay an additional PLN 2 for each additional km.

2.12 Can outdoor shots for a wedding video clip be taken on a day other than the wedding ceremony? Do you have to pay extra for this?
Yes of course. It is even advisable to take outdoor shots on a different day, because on the wedding day the bride and groom are usually so busy with current affairs that they have no time to think about anything else. The music video costs an additional PLN 500, but I do not charge any additional fees over PLN 500 for outdoor shots on a day other than the wedding.

2.13 Is it possible to take shots during an outdoor session according to our ideas?
Yes of course. Any of your own ideas for outdoor shots are welcome. You can be the director of your outdoor session, and then I will remain only the camera operator.

2.14 Are the discs you recorded copy-protected?
NO. You can freely copy the discs recorded by me.

2.15 The church where we will get married is poorly lit, rather dark.
Will the shots turn out well?

I have a professional on-camera lamp that I use in such situations to illuminate the scenes being filmed.

2.16 After completing your work, can you also provide us with the raw material?
Yes of course. Upon request, I provide source material directly from the camera. The fee for this is PLN 500. Raw wedding footage is approximately 4-6 hours of film.

2.17 Can I print photos from the wedding film, and if so, how?
Yes you can. On request, I download individual frames from the film using an editing program and save them on a pendrive or external USB drive provided by the client.

2.18 Should we come and pick you up?
NO. I travel to each order with my own transport.

2.19 We don't like all kinds of graphic inserts and animations incorporated into the film. Can we avoid this?
Absolutely. I prefer the so-called "TV editing" without unnecessary frills, graphics and animations.

2.20 Do you take shots in the cold in winter?
My contract stipulates that I do not film during sub-zero temperatures. However, if it is frost of several degrees, down to -5 degrees, and there is no snow or rain, I still try to take a few shots outside so that the wedding reportage is a series of subsequent events and nothing is missing. However, you must bear in mind the fact that in winter, when entering the house from the manor house for the blessing and from the manor house to the restaurant, the temperature difference is so great that the camera lens fogs up. Then it is necessary to wait a few minutes.

2.21 Do you drink alcohol at work or during a party?
No, I don't drink alcohol at all.

2.22 My fiancé is not Polish. Do you provide customer service in English?
Yes.
